Our Lysine has been tested by an independent laboratory and is high purity. In this product there are just 2 ingredients: 99,5% L-Lysine and 0,5% potato starch. 

Lysine, or L-lysine, is an essential amino acid, which means it is necessary for human health, but cannot be manufactured by the body. Lysine must be supplied through the diet or dietary supplements. Amino acids such as lysine are the building blocks of proteins.

The health claims put forward in the scientific opinion concerning the benefits of lysine for immune defenses against herpes, cholesterol balance, calcium retention in bones, and protein synthesis, have not been validated by the European Commission. Nevertheless, the mechanisms of action have been sufficiently characterized* : 

Lysine 

- is a precursor of carnitine and is involved in energy production

- lysine helps produce antibodies against the herpesvirus

- lysine helps loosen and eliminate fats from vascular walls

- is required for protein synthesis (skin, bones, teeth, muscles)

- lysine is needed for the liver to produce carnitine, necessary for the transport and conversion of fatty acids into energy.
